Custom Vinyl Printing and the Photo Booth!

26 Jan 2011 Uncategorized

I feel the need to post about this, because it seems to me that all I’ve been doing lately is printing custom vinyl for the exterior of our photo booths.

This Saturday, 1/29, we will once again be providing one of our digital photo booths for a Vitamin Water campaign in Philadelphia. The wrapping advertising their sponsorship of the Winter X Games Fifteen and their new Vitamin Water flavor aptly named Stur-D (for the vitamin D it contains, of course)

I really cannot stress enough how phenomenal a marketing tool the photo booth really is. First and foremost, it’s an attention getter. People walk over and are immediately intrigued, asking, “Oh wow! What’s that?” Once we tell them, they always want to take a photo, so they hop in the booth, snap some pics, and get their photo strip. Our package includes a FREE logo on the photo strip, so our promo/marketing events usually use this option to put their brand name or information on the photo strip. This means that your guests, or hopefully, your potential clients, leave with a photo strip; something they actually care about, that has your brand on it! We feel this is MUCH more effective than handing out flyers or pens, which often get thrown out and/or lost.

Coming up in February, we’re taking on a nationwide campaign for Ippolita! We will be providing one of out classic photo booths in 4 different cities for a one-day trunk show. The photo booth is wrapped with a custom vinyl designed by Ippolita’s design team and printing by us in-house. The installation of the wrapping is still in progress, but will be done in time to go to the first city on 2/10/11- Dallas, TX.

If you would like a photo booth for your next marketing/promo event (or any other event for that matter), contact us today!

Time to Reflect for UNICEF- Photo Booth Rental for a good cause!

17 Dec 2009 Uncategorized

Photo Illusions, LLC., provided a photo booth in NYC for the Time to Reflect for UNICEF project. The project is was created by renowned photographer, Alistair Morrison.

The concept involves celebrities taking photos in the photo booth (see pictures below). The celebrity photo booth pictures are then syndicated and published into a book and proceeds go to UNICEF. The book that was done for the millennium included the unique celebrity photo strips as well as their messages for the new millennium.

This year, Mr. Morrison enlisted the help of Photo Illusion to provide a classic photo booth for his project. We were honored and incredibly excited. I even got to do my own little interview with him! Below are the questions and his fabulous answers!

1. How did Time to Reflect begin? What gave you the idea to include a photo booth in the project?

I was sitting in a booth with my 1 year old daughter, Georgia, in 1997 and loved the results. I thought it would be great to get all the celebrities that I had photographed over the years to sit in a booth and wondered why they would do it. When UNICEF approached me to find them a MILLENNIUM project I had the answer.

2. What do you find to be the most intriguing thing about the photo booth and the pictures it produces?

The most intriguing thing about a photo booth is the enclosed space that is created when the curtain is drawn. It becomes your own little haven where you can play! (I agree!) The pictures are self portraits (individual’s choices not mine) and as a photographer I am interested to see what they do and what they choose to print.

3. Do you have a favorite photo booth moment?

Yes, when Tom Cruise first went in (I was concerned that he would find it all a bit amateur) and then he stayed, playing, for about 15 minutes and had great fun.

4. How did you manage to get such incredible celebrity involvement?

I managed to get so many celebrities because of my 30 years in photography. Once I could ask my ten favourite people (all big names) and they agreed because of our relationship, then it was always going to be easier as everybody likes to be associated with a project where so many international celebrities participate.

5. What made you bring the project from England to NYC?

The project came to NYC in 1999 and again in 2009 because there are so many people there who are big names to take part. Writers, actors, musicians, politicians, sports stars etc. New York city has the most concentrated group of potential celebrities in the world and Broadway always has a lot of stars.

6. The first book included celebrity messages for the millennium? Do you plan to publish another book? If so, what will the theme of this book be?

There have been two books and both have shown the images AND the messages. Time to Reflect does not change in its idea. A third book is planned for 2010. (Be on the look out! This is an incredible book with beautiful images and messages!)

7. What about photography inspires you? What do you enjoy most about photography?

Photography to me is about the people who are in my pictures. It is meeting them, famous or not, and understanding them that inspires me.

8. Do you think you will repeat this project again?

I think the project will go on and on, as long as you guys are always willing to lend us the hero of the whole Time to Reflect theme – namely THE BOOTH.

We thank Mr. Morrison and his team for inviting us and our photo booth to participate in Time To Reflect for UNICEF.

Everybody loves the Jay Leno Photo Booth!

7 Dec 2009 Uncategorized

“Ma’am, you don’t really like when he wears his hat like that, do you?”

This photo booth is classic. When Jay Leno first starting doing this photo booth prank, we would always get asked if we’ve seen the Jay Leno photo booth, if our photo booth was like the Jay Leno Photo Booth, etc. Well yes, I have seen it and I find it HILARIOUS, but no, our photo booths do not talk to you (and the picture quality is much different ;o) ).

YouTube has a whole collection of these videos. If you need a laugh, definitely check them out!

Mario and Karen’s Photo Booth!

7 Dec 2009 Uncategorized

Mario and Karen rented a photo booth for their wedding and decided to customize it to make it their own.

Remember, you too can customize the photo booth to make it something unique to your event! Photo Booth Rentals are becoming more and more popular for weddings, but very few people actually customize it. This is mainly because few photo booth rental companies actually offer customization of their booths.

Las Vegas Debut Of Tony Hawk Foundation Benefit A Success

Tony Hawk: RIDE Presents Stand Up For Skateparks achieves goal to assist east Las Vegas skatepark.

11/7/09 (Las Vegas, NV) — Skaters in east Las Vegas will see an improved public skatepark in their neighborhood, thanks to the success of the inaugural Tony Hawk: RIDE Presents Stand Up For Skateparks benefit at the Wynn Las Vegas. One year in the making, the Las Vegas debut of the foundation’s signature benefit event surpassed expectations by raising over $630,000 to help the Tony Hawk Foundation pursue its mission to bring free, quality public skateparks to low-income areas across the country.

Held at the Wynn Las Vegas, Tony’s personal ramp was set on top of one of the resort’s swimming pools, and a family-centric action-sports carnival filled the surrounding area with games, food, activities, a special musical performance by Rancid, the chance to test the new Tony Hawk: RIDE video game, and a Vert Demo with Tony and skaters Andy Macdonald, Bucky Lasek, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, and Kevin Staab, plus BMX pros Jamie Bestwick, Simon Tabron, and Dennis McCoy.

Several of Tony’s celebrity friends also attended, including Andre Agassi, Erik Estrada, BMX legend Mat Hoffman, T.J. Lavin, Holly Madison, Sal Masekela, Aubrey O’Day, UFC fighters Chuck Liddell, Frank Mir and Gray Maynard, UFC President Dana White, and others.

During a special Pledge Drive, Tony Hawk and event Guests donated over $78,000 to make improvements to Freedom Skatepark in east Las Vegas, a neighborhood challenged by high crime and poverty. Working with local skaters, plus professional skatepark designer SITE Design Group and builder California Skateparks, the Tony Hawk Foundation will use the funds to add a street plaza to the existing but modest Freedom Skatepark.

The event program also included an awards presentation, recognizing two individuals whose dedication and generosity have helped further the foundation’s mission to bring free, quality public skateparks to youth in low-income areas. Ron Burkle has hosted the Stand Up For Skateparks event at his home in Beverly Hills, California for the past five years, and is responsible for helping establish the foundation’s primary fundraising event. Continuing his commitment to supporting underserved communities, he pledged $25,000 to launch the Freedom Skatepark redevelopment effort. Also recognized was Peter Whitley, a co-founder of the all-volunteer Skaters For Public Skateparks advocacy group and author of the Public Skatepark Development Guide, a book co-published by the Tony Hawk Foundation that’s become the primary tool used by skatepark groups and city officials across the country.

In addition to the presentation, entertainment, and activities, live and silent auctions allowed Guests to bid on several exclusive auction items and experiences, including a DUB Edition Customized Tony Hawk 2010 Dodge Challenger RT, a bicycle signed by seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, the opportunity to be a character in the next Activision Tony Hawk video game or roadie for a day with Miley Cyrus, plus luxury vacation packages, signed memorabilia, and other unique items.
